Biography

Shao Chunyi, Associate Chief Physician, Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School, and Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He studied under Academician Fan Xianqun, a renowned Chinese expert in oculoplastic and orbital diseases (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program). He subsequently went to Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, and completed postdoctoral research in corneal transplantation under the supervision of Professor Reza Dana (an internationally renowned expert in corneal transplantation immunology and recipient of the 2018 Friedenwald Award, the highest individual achievement award of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology).

Specialties: Oculoplastic surgeries including double eyelid surgery, eye bag removal, and ptosis correction. His main focus is ocular surface and corneal diseases such as corneal transplantation, keratoconus, corneal dermoid, ocular chemical/thermal burns, ocular GVHD, ocular surface tumors, keratitis, pterygium, and dry eye. He was selected for the China Scholarship Council Future Scientist Program, Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program, Shanghai Young Physician Training Program, and the "Double Hundred Talents" Program of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He received the Third Prize of the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award (as the second contributor).
